Admission RequirementsApplicants to the program in Conservation Biology must have a bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent from a recognized college or university and must meet the admission requirements of the Graduate School of the University of Minnesota. Although majorirty of students come with a degree in biology or a closely related fields the program admit students from other backgrounds such as social science, economics, policy ets. The students with limited or no biology background may be required to make up selected courses in basic biology and/or ecology. In general, Ph.D. applicants holding a bachelor's degree will be expected first to complete a Master's degree in Conservation Biology. A statement of career goals and three letters of recommendation evaluating the applicant's potential for graduate study are required. The general Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required of all applicants whose first language is English. If English is not your primary language, you must take the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Important Notice: Educational Testing Service (ETS) frequently makes changes in testing locations and options, especially in foreign countries.
