“Bike Across Minnesota” FundraiserPlease click here to sponsor the rideThe NeedThe current economic climate has resulted in severe cuts to funding for higher education. One result of such cuts is the loss of funding for Conservation Biology students to attend professional conferences and workshops. Attending conferences is a critical aspect of the scientific process and allows us to inform other professionals and the public about our work. In the past year, Conservation Biology graduate students gave 105 presentations at professional conferences, and we hope to continue this strong record. The EventGraduate students in the Conservation Biology program are holding a bike relay across Minnesota as a fundraising campaign. The route will be west to east, starting at the ND border and ending on the shores of lake superior, traversing 400 miles in four days. This route will span three distinct biomes: prairie grassland, deciduous forest, and coniferous forest, highlighting the remarkable biodiversity of Minnesota.
